Thanksgiving Food Drive

A huge thank-you to everyone who joined in on our October fun! From swimming with pumpkins and visiting our patches to celebrating at Fall Festival, October was a spooktacular success thanks to all of our amazing swim families.

Now, we’re keeping the fun (and kindness!) flowing into the holiday season as we kick off our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive! This month, we’re trading pumpkins for cans and collecting food donations to support families right here in our community.

At Watermelon Swim, our mission is to grow a community of safer swimmers – but that starts with strong, supported communities. No one can focus on learning or thriving if their basic needs aren’t met, and that’s why this food drive means so much to us. Together, we can help make sure every family has food on the table this Thanksgiving.

Starting November 1st, we’ll be collecting nonperishable food items at all locations to donate to Feeding Tampa Bay, which provides food banks at local schools.

Our goal is to fill two large bins at each location by November 20th, ensuring families have what they need in time for Thanksgiving.

Here are some great items to donate:

  • Canned gravy, vegetables (green beans, corn, peas, ect.), and fruits (pumpkin, apples, yams, ect.)
  • Cranberry Sauce
  • Cornbread mix
  • Non-refrigerated pie crust
  • Boxed pudding
  • Rolls or biscuits
  • White rice
  • Mashed potatoes
  • Mac and cheese
  • Cream of mushroom soup
  • French fried onions
  • Crackers
  • Boxed stuffing
  • Other nonperishable foods

Bring your donations to your next swim class and help us fill our bins! Every can counts towards making this Thanksgiving a little brighter for our neighbors in need. 💚
